Have you stopped to ponder whether we are on the doorstep of generational warfare? I have noted of late, that there are an increasing number of posts in the blog-sphere by Generation Y, 20 somethings who seem to be mad as hell at “Old People.”
A fair number of the posts are rants about older drivers with a “get out of the way” theme. In some cases, there is a “get out of the way of society” slant to the post rather than just a “get off the road” theme. Beyond the road rage, there are a number of messages that view Baby Boomers as “Not the Greatest Generation.” Boomers are portrayed as

My biggest problem with the Internet is that it is just so dang much fun. I am an information junkie and a screen addict. Be it a TV screen, a movie screen or a computer screen, I am in front of one or another

When I confessed my addiction to watching television a while back, I noted that the Writer's Guild strike was killing me. Great joy and a calming of nerves washed over me when I learned that the strike was over. The writers are back, and there are almost daily announcements about which shows are starting back up this Spring and which are being postponed until Fall.

Is it just me or has there been a renewed increase in the number of urban legend, hoax and conspiracy theory emails being circulated on the Internet? Let me say right up front, I really care about and appreciate 97.99% of my friends, relatives and acquaintances. Don't get me started on the relatives! I would care about and appreciate them even more if they would quit forwarding these legend/hoax emails and the "send this to ten people" stuff.

The best thing about retirement is the amount of time and flexiblity we have to do the things we enjoy. It is difficult to say what after that I enjoy the most. Is it cooking, reading, golf, watching television, the napping and the list goes on? I am sure that my wife would say it is watching television but I do love cooking and the eating that goes with it! However, let’s think about that, as a great deal of what I enjoy is searching for and reading recipes. This is reading but it is cooking too. Do you see that? (more…)
